3 Weeks Postop

Definitely starting to see the swelling go down! I can also tighten my compression garment to the 2nd tightest row (out of 4), but I do leave it a little looser for sleeping. Working out is gradually coming along too...I've been able to do some slower jogging on my tread, and a bit of climbing on my bike.

I would say I can officially stand up all the way straight without a problem. Lifting overhead is still tough, especially with weight.

Interestingly, deep belly laughs and coughing or sneezing still suck. Can't forget to hold my belly in TIGHT when I do that! But I have noticed that I do not have the random abdominal muscle tightening anymore. Maybe if I have been holding my bladder for a very long time and really need to pee it will happen but other than that I haven't had any issues with it.

On another note, I am finally allowed to use scar cream! My surgeon wanted me to wait 3 weeks before applying it to the incision and to my belly button area. She did give me a small bottle of one that she typically recommends but I also showed her the one that I had used for my c-section scar that was recommended by my OB and she was fine with that one as well. Any of these can be found online, most likely from Amazon.

Here are the progress pictures.

Here are the two scar creams I will be trying. They are both silicone-based. I will start with the one my plastic surgeon just gave me which is in the smaller bottle, and then when I run out of that one I will start using the one that I have had previous experience with that I believe also worked well.
